TRYST

His trivial pursuits for
leather thighs
and marauding women
comfort his
childhood sorrows.

Night terrors
Lead him to
That hole over and over
Again.

He insists that it's really
That voodoo witch--

The cabaret's mainstay-
summoning his nightmares.

Back home the
Palm trees
Beckon my indolent bones
And countless unsung lovers...

Come back

To a memory that
was once troubled

Now innocent
After being told

Over and over again

I finally buried you yesterday.

Ballad of the Bleeding Badass Bitch

So this is where we must meet
between
blurred boundaries of reason

Where my gaze a hand to hold
your sigh --
a breath so close I cannot hold

I will no longer meet you
between streets
I grew cold standing in

I dwell in stories
told by those
who also heard the music

There were no stars but you today;

circumstance
plays
cruel
cosmic jokes

Entanglements

Anything that is a slight revelation of her

she dons her

chameleon cape

creating a million--

more facets of her

absence makes the heart grow colder...

Entanglements

inexorable they may be

steer clear.
